I have been thinking for a while that I wanted to get some "stairs" for Turk dog. He's getting older and I don't want him jumping up and down to get on the furniture. Sooo today I bought him stairs! Unfortunately he's not doing very well using them but we're gonna work on it :)

Today was perfect weather! It was such a gorgeous day and I'm so sad Andy wasn't here for me to share it with him! It wasn't humid, it was just sunny skies and lower 70s...completely perfect weather :)

Early in the day I went to get my hair trimmed and blown out. I've started going to Eden Day Spa and Salon and found a great new hairdresser named Tanya :)

Later in the evening I went to a Premier jewelry party at Julie's house! They jewelry was great so I definitely bought a littttle more than I planned :)

Today is the first weekend I'll be spending in Clarksville without Andy :( Luckily Hillary has invited me and Ruth to her house on post tonight for dinner and to hang out for a while. It made it much easier to have somewhere to go tonight so that I wouldn't focus on Andy not being here :( Although I will say it was hard for me to be out until 12:30am! ;) I now realize how much I've gotten used to Andy's routine bedtime of 9pm! :)

Starting last week the city has been replacing the sidewalks along our street, apparently they aren't up to code. Today they started ripping up ours!

Unfortunately when I got home they had it paved but they left a HUGE hole in our yard with the roots to our tree exposed! Luckily I was able to grab a construction worker and he assured me they will fix it before they're done :) Whew!

*****************
I have decided to make a goal that while Andy is gone I will walk Turk dog at least once a day. Today we decided to go to the newest park in town, Liberty Park. Turk dog has only been there once or twice so its still a new and interesting place for him :) Its also very pretty :)

Saturday and Sunday September 1st and 2nd, 2012
Turk dog and I left yesterday to go home for the Blueberry Festival! I tried SO hard to make it all the way but 7 1/2 hours of driving (and losing an hour due to a time change) was just too much for us. So we had to stop at a hotel in Indy. We got up bright and early Saturday morning though to finish the drive. Turk dog was still tired so he stayed in his blanket :)

Between Saturday and Sunday I went to the Blueberry Festival 3 times! On Saturday mom and I went and when I bought a lot of fall decorations :) On Sunday Al, Nick and I tried to go early in the day and there was a horrible downpour about 10 minutes after we got there!

We got drenched even with our umbrellas so we thought it was just gonna be a no go for the Blueberry today. However, about an hour after we left the skies became clear and blue and Al's mom, sister and cousins convinced us to go one more time, and this time it was a successful trip :)
And it was definitely back to being packed!!

This is the BEST blueberry sundae EVER! This is a MUST every year at the Blueberry Fest:)

And for some reason I also have to get an ear of grilled corn every year too :)

Unfortunately this was a short trip and me and Turk dog had to take off the next day on Monday! Before we left I had breakfast with my mom and dad at Bob Evan's and then took off for the longgg 7 1/2 hour drive!

Andy's parents came to town this past Wednesday because Andy will be leaving on Monday. Today Andy needed to clean his office out and of course we all went to help him :)...and force him to take pictures :)

Andy also had to do some packing and when he took a break Turk dog sat with him to keep him company :)

This was our last weekend together so Andy and I decided to go to Nashville and do what we love, visit old homes. But first we had breakfast at a good little local place called G's Pancake House.

The first place we visited was the Belle Meade Plantation. It is an old horse breeding estate and most famous racing horses can trace their lineage to Belle Meade.

After Belle Meade Plantation we went to Belmont Mansion which is located on the grounds of Belmont University. It was built by one of the richest families in the South and they built one of the most elaborate antebellum homes.

After touring 2 homes we were starving and went to one of our favorite places - The Melting Pot!! When we were walking there we ended up stopping in an old school candy shop :)
