FALL!!!

Here are some fall leaves, because you can never had too many pictures of fall leaves :)

We had our halloween party tonight for all of our families - here's my work crew :)

Thursday October 11th - Monday October 15th, 2012

I went to the PCA (Prevent Child Abuse America) Conference this last weekend in Jacksonville, FL. It was a great conference and I attended almost 10 different sessions covering various topics related to children.

Now I should probaby write all this stuff about the conference but instead this entire post is probably going to be about Jacksonville :) I didn't see too much of it but I saw a little!

These are all pictures of Jacksonville Landing. Jacksonville has a river running through the center of it and we stayed on the riverfront near this shopping/dining area. They play it up as amazing and spectacular...it wasn't quite that, BUT it was still a nice little place to eat at during the weekend and it had a little bit of shopping. Mostly I just liked that it was on the river and had a pretty view :)

One evening Melodye and I walked to the Jacksonville Art Musuem. On the way there I noticed Jacksonville had some great old buildings with a lot of detail. I tried to get pictures of some of it but pictures don't really do it justice.

This was a park across the street from the art museum. It reminded me of a park in San Fransisco in Chinatown where men sit and play board games all day because there were tons of men sitting in the park playing chess.

The museum...

And yes I snuck a picture inside :) There were actually a few things I really wanted to get pictures of but Melodye was yelling at me! :) There was a really interesting piece that was a painting made out of fingerprints. It was the coolest thing.

This isn't it but it's the one I was able to sneak a picture of ;)

After the art museum we went to the restaurant, Cafe Nola, in the museum and it was amazingly good!

Walking back from the museum we saw that Jacksonville has colored lights on some of the streets and it was the prettiest thing.

I also went running one morning along the riverfront and got some beautiful pictures.

At one point the path goes under a bridge and they've turned the area underneath into a small park.

Only I would spill coffee all over my paycheck and travel check 2 days before we travel!!

Saturday October 6th, 2012

Today was a beautiful day! It is really starting to feel like fall. It was nice and crisp outside...

....but still sunny so me and Turk dog took a nice long walk on the Greenway here in Clarksville. The leaves haven't completely changed yet but in another week or two I think there this walk will be even prettier.

Friday October 5th, 2012

I think our road sign has gotten hit at least 2-3 times just in the last year!

*********

I didn't get any pictures but I also went over to Ruth's this evening. It was a great night of chatting with a new friend while drinking wine and eating yummy chili for the first time this season :) Hopefully we'll have more nights like this and pictures to come :)

Thursday October 4th, 2012

Pretty pictures of the house in the morning...you can tell fall is coming into full swing.

This evening I went to the ArtWalk downtown with Melodye. Various shops downtown exhibit a local artist and typically have food and drinks set out. It was actually a really neat event and I can't wait until Andy gets home to do it with him!

A happy Turk dog after a walk at the park after work :)

Monday October 1st, 2012

Ground hog is back!! It's been awhile so I was glad he came back to visit :)

Sunday September 30th, 2012

This morning when me and Turk dog got up it was very foggy! Its been so long since I've seen fog that it really surprised me. In the midwest I felt fog was common and frequent but here in Clarksville (at least where we are) I rarely see fog.

I think I'm becoming obsessed with nature pictures:) But that's okay :) Here are some more from walking with Turk dog this morning.

I also kept my promise and visited the LST ship at the river today. I had NO idea how popular it would be! There was quite a line and it took at least an hour to tour the whole ship!

And here is a shot of the line from the ship!
